The Traveller's are a group of friends from different backgrounds and regions of the UK.  Each of us has been in the Charente for varying lengths of time between 1 and 10 years.  For some time we have been meeting up for social activities and to help one another with various projects and issues.  These range from outings in the summer to DIY jobs to helping out with transport.  Not that we're short of things to do, we just thought that our variety of knowledge and expertise could be expanded and even improved by sharing it further!  The result is the Traveller's Club.  We meet monthly at the Dixie and feature a particular subject each time, although not exclusively; we welcome anyone who wants to come along and chat about anything!

There is no membership fee or commitment (although we do ask for a donation towards coffee) just turn up.

Subjects on which we have some knowledge or interest are:
Gardening
Card Games
Using a Computer and problems.
Aromatherapy
Chess
Drawing and art
Calligraphy
Bicycle maintenance
Car mechanics

We run a book exchange and, in future, could possibly show some English films.

The Traveller’s club meets at 10:30am on the  first Thursday of every month.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 2nd February 2012 ; we will again be playing cards (the favourite is cribbage but we are keen to learn and play others too). We will also continue our discussion group which proved so popular in the past, 'Gardening in the Charente'.  There will also be an art group with the opportunity to exchange advice for both budding and experienced artists.  The book exchange will also be available so please bring along any that you may have to swop.

We are keen to extend the range of subjects so we would be happy to include any from the above list or any others that you can suggest.
